Prior to his career in lighting and controls, he worked in the television and film industry, starting as a production assistant, assistant director, and camera operator for Fox Sports Net, and later contributing to projects like an episode of Grimm and stop-motion animation at Laika and House Special studios. He holds a degree in New Media and Communications from Oregon State and was part of the production team for the Oscar-nominated film The Boxtrolls.
Mike enjoys making processes and jobs easier for others, and outside of work, he’s passionate about miniature modeling and painting, as well as exploring Portland’s vibrant pinball scene. He loves being creative and appreciates the creativity of others. At home, he shares his life with his 7-year-old Jack Chi, Lily, and his 9-year-old black cat, Dwight. He also spent over a decade taking drum lessons and can play many songs by ear.
